Wilkinson signs new Toulon contract

Jonny Wilkinson has signed a one year extension to his contract at Toulon, the new deal tying the former England fly-half to the French Top 14 club until 2013.

The news comes at the end of a week in which the 32-year-old 2003 World Cup winner called time on his England career.

A statement on Toulon's website on Saturday confirmed: "After taking the decision to end his international career with England Jonny Wilkinson wanted to take another important decision. Yesterday (Friday) Jonny officially extended his contract with Toulon for one more season.

"Until now, Wilkinson had a contract until the end of this season, with an option to extend it by another season. This option has been exercised, which means 'Wilko' will be back in the Red and Black in 2013."
