Scotland fullback Hugo Southwell has become the third British frontline player to join French Top 14 giants Stade Francais, the club announced on its website Tuesday.
The 28-year-old - capped 48 times and who controversially displaced Chris Paterson as number one choice at fullback for the recent Six Nations tournament - will join up with international team-mate Simon Taylor, who has been there since 2007.
"Stade Francais is one of the top European sides," said the Edinburgh stalwart, who signed a pre-contract a fortnight ago.
"It is a good experience a great opportunity for me to come to Paris.
"I will discover a new style of play."
Southwell joins English international duo backrow forward James Haskell, capped 14 times, and lock Tom Palmer, capped 13 times, who both signed from Wasps.
They will be expected to help Stade finally lift the European Cup, which has eluded them despite two appearances in the final and the millions of euros invested in the club by flamboyant radio entrepreneur Max Guazzini.
