Polota-Nau named in Barbarians team to play England

Australian rugby union selectors have rushed Wallabies hooker Tatafu Polota-Nau into the Barbarians team that will face England in Gosford on Tuesday.

Polota-Nau has been out of action with an ankle injury and his replacements -- Huia Edmonds and Saia Faingaa -- have both struggled badly against a dominant English scrum.

The New South Wales player is almost certain to be added to the full Australian squad if he comes through Tuesday's match unscathed.

Fellow Wallabies Peter Hynes and Kurtley Beale also come into the Barbarians team, as do NSW flanker Pat McCutcheon and Queensland lock Rob Simmons.

Hynes will start at fullback in place of James O'Connor, who joined the Wallabies after last week's Barbarians game, while Beale takes Berrick Barnes' starting role at fly-half.

The team (15-1): Peter Hynes, Nick Cummins, Will Chambers, Anthony Faingaa, Lachie Turner, Kurtley Beale, Josh Valentine, Stephen Hoiles (captain), Pat McCutcheon, Ben McCalman, Rob Simmons, Mitchell Chapman, Laurie Weeks, Tatafu Polota-Nau, Pekahou Cowan.

Reserves: Huia Edmonds, James Slipper, Mark Chisholm, Matt Hodgson, Luke Burgess, Berrick Barnes, James O'Connor.
